We believe that community involvement with local government and representation is instrumental to create transparency and accountability with any county project that benefits our community. Get involved by following up with our district supervisor on current projects within North Fork. Currently, the community is concerned regarding the new fire station completion and staffing. Also, the community has expressed a need for town hall meetings that have a direct impact on North Fork.

This project aims to take 1.14 million acres of the Sierra National Forest and preserve it under the protection of a national monument. Some proposed changes would include continuing hunting, only street legal 4WD vehicles in limited use areas allowed, and dispersed camping. For questions, email Deanna director@unitetheparks.org

Housing is a big topic in our mountain communities. The initial submittal of the housing element document was rejected by the state. The last proposal requested a large rezoning project still in need of proper allocation. A virtual workshop will be held by Madera County on Oct. 29th from 5:30-7:00 PM.
